Humanoid Robots 2024: Products and brands.

These are the robots and companies behind the robots for those that took centre stage with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at the Nvidia AI event in March 2024, together with robots absent but still significant, and they are the start of a revolution that will transform the world provided we can solve the economic question that sadly is not even being asked.

While some companies on this list are in production with customer service and other robots, no company is in 2024 yet producing biped robots in the sufficient quantity to yet profit from biped robot production, and considering Tesla, founded in 2003, did not report a full year profit until 2020, profits may take a while.

Significantly, some are beginning mass production of humanoid robots in 2024, and those some include companies like Fourier, UBTech and Unitree that have already had other robots in mass production for a decade.

Page Updates: OFP Posts WordPress plugin, why updates matter, and how to find them.

I am an analyst, not a journalist, which means the focus of this site is analysis. Journalists, with the word ‘jour’ at the start of their title, present pages which will normally be in their final correct form from day one.

Analysis is very different. Many topics analyses continue to evolve, and while a report on what happened at a point in time should remain intact, analysis should continually be updated to reflect current, rather than now outdated conclusions. Updates are essential for information to remain relevant.

The Webpaper and the ‘Blook’: An Evolution of non-fiction.

If you send someone an email, once you press send it is as final as when a book is published. If you later decide it would have been better if something was different, then it is too late. But if you put that writing on a webpage and send a link… you can always update the web page.

Imagine a scientific paper that in place of normal final publishing, is on the web and has that same ability to continue to be updated with the results further research.

Welcome to the “webpaper”, that can even be online before work is complete in get the feedback of peers and others even before it is considered final, and the “blook” that begins with one webpaper builds into a complete set of work over time as webpapers are added and continue to be updated as time progresses.

WordPress.com to the Next Level: Plugins, Elementor, CoBlocks?

Something completely different. A discussion on how this site is hosted: on wordpress.com.

Anyone who has started a “blog” or other site on wordpress.com, may get to wonder, what are the options for upgrading the website? What is the value of the free, personal or premium plans and beyond? What real world benefits are there, and, alternatively, what would you lose and/or gain from moving away from wordpress.com. This is a page discussing being in that situation. If you are not considering having a website, it may be of little interest.

Images, Making Animated GIFs & Solving colour problems.

This is part of series of pages I will be adding on things I have learnt as part of building this website, and I will soon try and enable following by topic (when I get this page working), so people can separately select notification on building websites and/or population or other issues, without being notified of things outside their interest. Standby for that update.

Meanwhile this page provides general help on making an animated GIF for a series of images, specific help on a challenge with animated GIFs, and a list of sites with free images as a resource for those building images.

Our Home Robot Future in 2021: Toys or Valuable Tools?

Someone mentioned ‘the Jetsons’ and I thought, “Robots, yes, flying cars, no.” People do keep working on flying cars, but I just do not see that turning out like in the Jetsons, and I will at some time elaborate on that topic. However a home robot could soon become a real thing.

Accessorised Evolution: The human difference is evolution of our accessories/tools.

Accessorised Evolution: The human difference is evolution of our accessories/tools.

The defining difference between humans and other species is that the "accessories" we make evolve independently of our genes. The difference between humans of 50,000 years ago and the 21st century can be seen by anyone, while birds' nests, beavers' dams and bees' hives only evolve when the species evolves. In the spirit of Batman and Ironman, our 'accessories' or 'tools' allow to outcompete other species confined by biological evolution and provide humans with enhanced abilities that could even be seen by past generations as superpowers. Genetically we may be similar to humans of over 50,000 years ago, but our accessories make us very different in ways that impact us from our population to tolerance of others.
